6. The Two Fridas

As a known bisexual, Frida Kahlo and Frida Kahlo make the perfect topper for any lesbian wedding cake. The cake is based on the painting The Two Fridas that highlights the broken heart caused by Kahlo’s marriage to Diego Rivera. That doesn’t sound like a good sentiment for your wedding, however, in an important romantic twist, this cake artist has made sure to mend the heart of the Kahlo in white.

7.  Girl Before a Mirror

Here we have another cake that would be great for a same sex wedding. Or any wedding really. Based on Picasso’s Girl Before a Mirror the painting is a reflection of two sides of the same person and therefore likely a reflection of whatever vows you just took with your new life partner (unless you’re the one couple in the world that doesn’t claim to complete each other).

8. Dalí

Not for your average newlyweds, this cake combines several Dalí works to make a surreally sweet treat for couples combining their lives.  Dali may seem like a strange choice for wedding inspiration but his intense devotion to his wife and muse Gala is actually something many lovers may want to emulate.

9. Mondrian

This Mondrian cake is ideal for the modern bride and groom unafraid of being bold. The primary colors and geometric patterns Mondrian is famous for have been seen on everything from clothing to the Partridge Family bus so it’s no surprise to see them adorning a cake. Remember, it’s hip to be square.

10. Water Lilies

Arguably the most beautiful of the cakes featured, this Monet inspired treat will leave quite the impression on your guests. Based on Monet’s famous Water Lilies series this is an ideal choice for a spring or summer wedding.
