The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is 7 floors chock full of the famous Pop artist's creations.

Since Pittsburgh was his hometown, they also have documentation of other parts of Warhol's life...in addition to works by other artists, lectures by Warhol experts, film screenings and concerts. The Warhol Museum is basically the mecca for all things Andy.I made my pilgrimage there a few years ago. As a West coast city snob, my expectations for Pittsburgh were low. My shortsightedness became immediately clear as I fell in love with a passionate town filled with music, history and contemporary art (not to mention $2 cocktails).

The Andy Warhol Museum is a definite must-see on your visit to the Burgh.  Have a hearty lunch at one of the many pubs nearby, you'll need the fuel to take it all in.  But don't have too many pints of Yeungling or you'll find yourself dozing off in the gallery with dimmed lights where they play his many esoteric films on loop. Sleep (1963), an almost six hour film of his friend John Giorno comfortably snoozing and the chilly afternoon rain both made a post-museum nap seem like an especially good idea.
